Character Counts at Andres and Maria Cardenas
Andrés and María Cárdenas Elementary believes that building strong moral intelligence is as important as teaching academics. Cardenas students participate daily in our character program that teaches students the benefits of having strong morals. Students will be given lessons on important character traits like empathy, conscience, respect, self-control, tolerance, fairness and kindness. Through out the school year we will be focusing on one of these traits at a time. We ask that parents try to work with your student to help them better understand and demonstrate these traits.

RESPECT - Showing you value others by treating them in a courteous and considerate way.

CARING - Displaying kindness and concern for others.
NOVEMBER
RESPONSIBILITY - A duty or obligation to satisfactorily perform or complete a task (assigned by someone, or created by one's own promise or circumstances) that one must fulfill.
DECEMBER
FAIRNESS - Choosing to be open-minded and to act in a just and fair way.
JANUARY
TRUSTWORTHINESS - Having the quality of being able to be trusted or to be confided to. It also means one that is reliable.
FEBRUARY
GOOD CITIZENSHIP - A good citizen is someone that always respects other people and their property regardless of past issues. They respect the environment and they don't harm it in any way. They recycle and do things that help to make the environment better good citizen is always ready to help and put others first. They listen to the opinions of other people and take into consideration what they have to say. They are always willing to help people that are not in a position to help them selves. A good citizen is very hard working and productive. They are always willing to learn. A good citizen is well mannered and fun to be around. A good citizen always obeys the law and respects people that have authority over them (for example: police). They also respect all nationalities and people of different cultures. They stand up for the rights of others.

EMPATHY - The feeling that you understand and share another person's experiences and emotions : the ability to share someone else's feelings.

Andrés y María Cárdenas Primaria cree que la construcción de una fuerte inteligencia moral es tan importante como los académicos de enseñanza. Estudiantes Cárdenas participan diariamente en nuestro programa de carácter que enseña a los estudiantes los beneficios de tener la moral fuertes . Los estudiantes recibirán lecciones sobre importantes rasgos de carácter como la empatía , la conciencia , el respeto , el autocontrol , la tolerancia , la justicia y la bondad. A través de todo el año escolar nos centraremos en uno de estos rasgos a la vez. Pedimos que los padres tratan de trabajar con su estudiante para ayudarles a entender mejor y demuestran estos rasgos.

IMPARCIALIDAD - Optar por ser de mente abierta y actuar de una manera justa y equitativa.

CONFIABILIDAD - Tener la cualidad de ser capaz de confiar o que se confió . También significa uno que es fiable.
febrero
Buen Ciudadano - Un buen ciudadano es alguien que siempre respeta a otras personas y sus bienes , independientemente de los números anteriores . Respetan el medio ambiente y no perjudican en modo alguno . Reciclan y hacer cosas que ayudan a hacer el mejor ambiente de buen ciudadano está siempre dispuesto a ayudar y poner a otros primero . Ellos escuchan las opiniones de otras personas y tener en cuenta lo que tienen que decir. Siempre están dispuestos a ayudar a las personas que no están en condiciones de ayudar a ellos mismos . Un buen ciudadano está trabajando muy duro y productivo . Siempre están dispuestos a aprender . Un buen ciudadano es bien educado y divertido estar con ella . Un buen ciudadano siempre obedece a la ley y respeta a las personas que tienen autoridad sobre ellos ( por ejemplo : la policía ) . También respetan todas las nacionalidades y pueblos de diferentes culturas . Ellos defienden a los derechos de los demás .
